Menu Printing


There are several ways to print your menus:

1.  Print menus yourself

2.  Use third-party printers

3.  Use Online Printers

4.  Use your Food Service Provider

5.  Use DinerMagic Printing Services

 

 

1.  Printing menus yourself.  Once you have edited your menu, you can immediately download the pdf from your website and print them on any any PC-compatible color printer, either ink-jet or laser.  Color laser printers will give you the brightest colors and sharpest images.  However most ink-jets will print very nicely also.  We have had very good success with lower-end ($200-$400) HP, Canon and Dell ink-jets and lasers.  If you use menu covers or jackets, you can use plain paper.  However, a heavier bond is easier to work with and will last longer, especially if you do not use covers.  Just ensure that you set your printer to use the heavier paper before you print.  If your menus have graphics that "bleed" or print to the edge of the paper (no white borders or margins) then you will either have to purchase a higher-end printer that can support this, or have it printed at your local Kinkos or other print shop.  However, most lower-end printers can print with only 1/8 to 1/4 inch borders, which is usually acceptable for most customers.


2.  Using third-party printers.  All you need to do is to bring your pdf menu file on your thumbdrive to your local FedEx Office (formerly, Kinko's) and they can print your menu for you on whatever paper you choose.  They will usually have a wide variety of colors, weights and sizes in stock.  Then on subsequent orders, you can simply email an attachment of your pdf menu to them and they will call you or send it to you when they are printed.

 

3.  Online Printers.  Fedex Office also has an online printing service.  Just go to printonline.fedex.com and follow the step-by-step process.  You upload your PDF menu file and pay online.  They you can pick up the printed menus or have them delivered to you by the FedEx driver.

 

4.  Using your Food Service Provider.  Some DSRs will be offering menu management services using DinerMagic, which will include editing and printing.  Check with your provider to see if they are or will be do this.

 

5.  Using DinerMagic Print Services.  At this time, we can offer 4-color printing of your full-size and take-out menus in any size up to 8.5" x 14" (legal size).  We plan to offer larger sizes with full-bleed printing in the future.  You will need to specify the paper type and quantity.  Call our offices to speak with a DinerMagic representative.
