How do I edit my menus?

 

First, we recommend that you watch the tutorial, "Editing Your DinerMagic Menus" on YouTube.

 

1. Log onto yor Admin Panel and select "Menus".

 

2. You will be directed to the "Menu Map" page. Select the menu, or section of the menu you want to edit, then click on the image (the cursor will turn into the little finger icon when you mouse-over).

 

3. In the menu editor you will see the categories, category descriptions (if you have them), and menu items,  The items have an item name field, a description (if your menu has them), price or prices, and it can have a legend icon.

 

4. To make a change, place your cursor in the field you want to edit, click once, and make your changes.  Then either go to the next field to edit, or scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update".

 

Once you have updated the page, you can either (1) click the "Home" button at the top of the page to go back to the Administration Panel, (2) click your browser's back button to go back to the Menu Map to select another menu or section, or (3) close the Menu Editor altogether.

 

Adding a legend icon to your menu:

 

At the bottom of each menu editing page, there are several icons that typically represent hot, spicy, or raw, or something similar. Besides each icon is a letter, either lower-case or upper-case. To place an icon beside the price of a particular item, enter the letter corresponding to the icon you wish to use. Remember to use the correct letter and case (either lower-case or upper-case) in the left column under Legend. The icon will not appear in the menu editor, but will appear in your online menu and your PDF print menu.

 

If you want the icon to appear in your print menu but your print menu currently does not have icons, contact the DinerMagic Support Staff.

 

Remember to click "Update".
